Simply Bread App Beta Gift Cards Program

Welcome to the Simply Bread App’s beta program for physical gift cards! This guide will help you understand how to set up, sell, and manage these physical gift cards, available to all our users in the U.S. and Canada.

Overview of the Gift Cards

This beta supports physical gift cards only. We don’t offer virtual or e-gift cards yet, but that’s coming in a future update. Each physical card costs $0.99, can be ordered in batches of 50 to 500, and is fully customizable with your bakery’s branding.

Barcode and QR Code Features

Each gift card includes a 16-digit barcode that can be scanned or manually entered, plus a QR code. When the customer scans the QR code, it takes them to your online storefront and shows a pop-up with the remaining balance on the card.

Selling Gift Cards In Your Bake Day

To sell gift cards online, create a “Gift Card” product in your Product Library. You can either set a fixed value (like $20) or offer multiple values using product options (e.g., $10, $25, $50, $100, etc.). This way, customers can choose the amount they want.

Simply Bread Fee Exemption

We do not charge the Simply Bread fee when a gift card is purchased to avoid double fees. After you create the gift card product, let us know, and we’ll mark it as fee-exempt on our end.

Loading and Gifting Cards

You can load any value onto a gift card even without an immediate sale, allowing you to give them away as promotions if you wish. For in-person sales, the POS system is fully integrated to load and sell gift cards on the spot. For online sales, just activate the purchased value card and provide it to the customer.
