Is it normal for my oven to leak during curing?

Leaking during curing is normal and expected.

What You Need to Know
When your oven is brand new, curing the stones is a crucial step before baking. This process removes the moisture contained within the stones to ensure optimal heat distribution and prevent cracking of the stones. During this curing phase, it is normal and expected for some moisture to leak from the oven.

To protect the legs of the oven and the surface it stands on, place a towel underneath any areas where leakage is observed. This will help absorb moisture and prevent potential water staining.

Rest assured that all electronic components are located at the top of the oven, so there is no risk of damage from this moisture.

What If the Oven Leaks After Curing?
If you notice leakage after the curing process is complete, this may indicate an issue such as:

  • Door alignment discrepancies
  • Malfunctions in the steam system

In such cases, it is important to investigate further, as continued leakage is not typical during regular operation.
